Think Local Forum: Why support independent locally owned businesses?
Place: Old Worthington Library
Date: Wednesday, February 08, 2012
Time: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

“Local” is an often used term these days – local foods, locally owned business. But how does supporting local entrepreneurs benefit you and our community? What sort of local economy is possible in the Central Ohio area? What is happening in other US communities?
This forum will help you gain a deeper understanding of how strong local economies can benefit all of us. The director of SOLE (Support Our Local Economy) will give an overview of the issues related to local vs. nonlocally based economies. Representatives from some of the “building blocks” of a local economy - local independent retail, sustainable agriculture, and community capital - will talk about their many current programs in the Central Ohio area.
