David Cobb on Addressing Corporate Abuse
Tuesday, June 29 - 7 p.m.
David Cobb, attorney, activist and national spokesperson for Movetoamend against excessive Corporate power, will be speaking at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd. Mr. Cobb ran for Attorney General in Texas in 2002 on a platform of curbing Corporate abuse and was the Green Party candidate for President in 2004. In the wake of the recent Supreme Court Citizens United ruling, Cobb offers a message of hope. He reminds us that the power of the Supreme Court is not infinite or everlasting and that many of its worst past decisions have been overturned. Undeniably, overcoming corporate excess is key to bringing back threatened democratic institutions and restoring civil society.
Co-sponsored by Simply Living, The American Friends Service Committee Northeast Ohio Office, Citizens Intent on Restoring Corporate Accountability (CIRCA), the Ohio Conference on Fair Trade, and the Central Ohio Green Education Fund, this is a presentation you do not want to miss. After the presentation local reformers will provide information about opportunities to get involved locally in curtailing Corporate abuse.
